I have been soaking up a lot of SANCTUARY in the last few days.
I've been in a steam-punky, pulpy mood lately and SANCTUARY just stokes that perfectly.
Gateworld posters OTOH... unfortunate.

Booyah!, peeps,
so, yesterday's Thing of Awesome was finishing two jobs that aren't due until tomorrow... Which makes today's Thing of Awesome that I have nothing to do because I didn't tell anyone that I was done. Downtime is bliss, sometimes.
There's a new Guild ep out today, which is always a bonus, and in which Jeff Lewis kills, usual.
I think I'll spend the day productively, though. The Christmas shopping needs doing. I also need some new winter clothes - it has come to my attention that I've been wearing the exact same bunch of jumpers for five years running! It's time to throw some of my hard-earned at the online retailers... Oh but how I hate shopping. Wish me luck. |

• Yuletide signups are open yay yay yay!
• I am also ridiculously excited about festivids.
• Dad is the keynote speaker for the 18th NSW Coastal Conference, which is happening at the moment in Ballina. He did an interview with ABC radio yesterday, which aired this morning; there's an article here and the interview itself (in mp3 form) is here. My daddy is smart, y'all.
• Via adamjury, a cool shot of Leia sunbaking.
• This is still the most addictive Flash game ever. |

Today's Thing of Awesome was lunch - they laid on the plate-sized Yorkshire pud filled with sausages, taters, veg, and onion gravy. *swoon* The work canteen isn't really all that great, but every once in a while they deliver. 4 hours later I'm still stuffed.
I filled in a Work Station Assessment report today. From what I can tell, I work at the most comfortable desk, in the most comfortable chair, and have everything set up right. So either I've missed something, or the bad wrist and stiff neck and immobile fingers on the mousehand have nothing to do with work. It'll be good to find out. I won't get physio until someone's established that I'm sitting correctly.
Anyone doing NaNo this year? How's it going? |

Following in the footsteps of what raithen said the other day:
Today's Good Thing is that I've finally spoken to H&S and they will assess my desk in the hope that this will sort out the constant pain in my right wrist and shoulder.
In other news, autumn is here, and with it came my predictable annual home improvement frenzy. For starters, I bought this lovely shelf the other day. It's now on the kitchen wall and has some vases and jugs and cinnamon sticks on it and makes me happy every day.
I've also tidied up the bookshelves, and put up a bathroom shelf. (Shelf is a weird word.) I feel accomplished. The garden is almost winter-ready. I've finally gone and bought some chickenwire to hide in the earth around the Littlest Lilac Tree.
This will apparently stop the squirrel, who is a swine, btw, digging up the roots every other day. I will report back on the success rate.
And now it's almost lunchtime. Happy days!
How are you? |
